Oscillating Duality
Oscillating dualities that distinguish odd- and even-numbered levels are found in all THEE hierarchies for reasons that are still obscure. In any case, the reversal in polarity ensures an absolute discontinuity from level to level.
The duality appears to be about the attitude to change and its potential effect on the entity of concern
In the odd-numbered levels, appears to be progressive and involves inherent risks to the entity associated with entry to an unknown new state.
In the even-numbered levels, change appears to be focused on preserving the entity and protecting it from the potential of an adverse development.
Odd: Progressive & Risky

deliberately generates actual change and a degree of progress or potential for progress occurs. Sometimes there is runaway change as unexpected reactions or consequences develop. So variation, even if it expresses caution, is inherently risky.

with its focus on betterment immediately implies progressive change. Because it leads to something than is completely new, it is risky. Only time will tell whether unintended consequences were avoided.

is progressive and evolutionary as originally conceived by Darwin. As the environment becomes disadvantageous in some way, the entity experiences a severe risk unless there is progress towards a better fit. The success of that adaptation is often not known in advance, which makes responding nearly as risky as ignoring the issue.

represents an imaginative leap which is inherently risky. Many fear change will be revolutionary or destructive. In any case, some form of progress is being emphasized.
Even: Preservative & Protective

accepts the status quo and current identity, and that is protective. Because it is activated to deal with unsatisfactory conditions, it is inherently preservative.

directly protects the entity through provision of whatever is required. It also involves attempts to preserve the status quo including any current change that may be occurring.

provides a fix on the entity's state and this permits its preservation. It also protects against mishaps that could emerge from working in the dark.
Forced Reversal
The ability to forcibly reverse the oscillating duality was first noticed in regard to the PH5-Primary Hierarchy of Communication. Subsequent investigation in the Architecture Room suggests that forcible reversal can occur in all Primary Hierarchies including .
Such reversal in leads to its Tree Centres becoming L7s from each of the 7 Domains. This generates an Emergent Hierarchy which is a framework for self-recovery based on selflessness.
