Introduction to Using Language

Basic Ideas

As in all Domains, Communication-RL5 contains a Principal Typology which contains different ways to optimize the handling of the communicating i.e. the Primary Hierarchy.

I label these Approaches or Methods: Using Language (PH'5).

In studying the elements of communication (PH5), the focus was on a simple communicative event where the sender and the receiver could be considered separately.

However, in studying the use of language PH'5, the communicator is always considering the impact on the recipient—who may be immediately present or may be distant in time and/or place.

The purpose and context of the communication will therefore determine the most suitable way to use language.
