Structure & Function of Q-expansions

RH has a Q expansion

The Root Domain has a Q-type expansion of the Root Hierarchy. Indeed this was how the Root Hierarchy was discovered. Analysis showed that the Spirals in the Primary Domains linked adjacent Root Levels. The resultant Spiral Tree containing Mode essences specified the determinants of the Primal Need of the lower Root Level.

The diagram below shows the Root expansion into 28 Levels and the Primal Need frameworks (i.e. Spiral Trees) formed by combining adjacent Root Levels.

The function of the Root/Will expansion is to enable the meeting of the 7 Primal Needs.

The 7 Primal Needs with the origin of their determinants are conjectured to be as follows:

Primal Need Spiral Tree
L7-L5
Spiral Tree
L4-L1
Spiral
RL1: ACHIEVEMENT Inquiry-RL2 Action-RL1 PH'1CH
RL2: KNOWLEDGE Change-RL3 Inquiry-RL2 PH'2CH
RL3: FITNESS Experience-RL4 Change-RL3 PH'3CH
RL4: INDIVIDUALITY Communication-RL5 Experience-RL4 PH'4CH
RL5: ASSOCIATION Purpose-RL6 Communication-RL5 PH'5CH
RL6: GOVERNANCE Willingness-RL7 Purpose-RL6 PH'6CH
RL7: COMPETENCE Action-RL1 Willingness-RL7 PH'7CH

The Primal Need of a Primary Domain is what drives the Fundamentals. So those fundamentals are the psycho-biological «given means» for meeting the need.

The Primal Means, as revealed by the Spiral which emerges from the Control Source, ensures that the Fundamentals are well-handled. This Primal Means is subject to development over time, graphed as the Spiral Trajectory on a TET. So perhaps it should be re-labelled as the «Primal Developer». However, a name change will cause confusion and seems unnecessary.

The Primal Need for the Root Domain itself is proposed to be Thriving. In order to thrive, it seems that all the Primary Domain Primal Needs must be met to some minimum degree.

ClosedDoes R'H have a Q-expansion?

Primary Domain Q Expansions : Arenas

It seems from PH'5Q2-Organisations, that the Q-structure is substantial. All of the following frameworks have been investigated and discovered to be highly significant, personally and socially.

  • Qt: the typology : Methods of managing work
  • QC: the spiral of growth : Strengthening management of work
  • QH: the hierarchy Structuring organizations
  • QHK: the tree Accountability dynamics in organizations
  • QsH: the structural hierarchy : Organising management
  • QsHK: the structural hierarchy tree : Socio-emotional states

From the initial exemplars, it seems that the Q-entities play a major role in our psychosocial functioning with numerous powerful applications.

Example: Closed Prosperity

The PH'4Q4 Prosperity framework helped clarify the handling of many diverse and important matters including:

  • well-being & productivity
  • career development
  • cooperation for results
  • profitability and marketing
  • meta-economic management
  • government intervention in the economy

We are therefore labeling these Q-expansions as Arenas, signifying a place where many things happen.

The Function of Arenas

While these Arenas are part of the Domain Controls, previously developed frameworks reveal that they do not control the Domain Fundamentals.

e.g.
PH'5Q2 Management/Accountabilitydoes not control Communication-PH5
PH'5Q4 Prospering does not control Experience-PH4.

Nor do they have much to do with other parts of the Domain Controls.

e.g. PH'5-Q2 Management/Accountability does not control or have much to do with informal groups and how they share reality (PH'5C) or making others understand (PH'5CsH).

However, if the above proposition that each Primary Domain exists to meet a particular Primal Need is correct, then everything in the Domain must contribute. In other words, the Q-frameworks of a Domain must be contributing to meeting the Primal Need of that Domain in some way—or they would not exist. We can therefore provisionally label them by reference to the Need, as follows:

  • PH'1Q•: 7 Arenas of Achieving
  • PH'2Q•: 7 Arenas of Knowing
  • PH'3Q•: 7 Arenas of Fitness
  • PH'4Q•: 7 Arenas of Individualizing
  • PH'5Q•: 7 Arenas of Associating
  • PH'6Q•: 7 Arenas of Governing
  • PH'7Q•: 7 Arenas of Effectiveness

This confirms what seems intuitively correct: that each of our Primal Needs are met in diverse standard ways. We will only understand the diversity of Arenas if we can clarify the nature of each and give them meaningful names.

The first inquiring step is to investigate the Style Hierarchies. Then we need to consider the psychosocial pressures on Arenas.
